There are over 200 species of Gardenias, the species are of primary importance being the Gardenia magnifica, florida & radicans. Thr Gardenia magnifica  has larger flowers than Florida, and grows 1.5 to 2 m high. The Gardenia florida only reaches 1.2 to 1.5M height and has smaller flowers. The Gardenia radicans is a creeping Gardenia groundcover. Gardenias like semi shade - dappled light, or morning sun, with some warmth.
